Q: What is RescueNet ePCR for iPad?
A:
It is a new ZOLL product that allows users to document patient care.  It consists of two components – a documentation piece that runs on an iPad and utilizes the intuitive UI available on that device; and a backend, storage piece where the data resides permanently.  The iPad portion can be used in a disconnected state and will automatically save to permanent storage when a 3G or WiFi connection becomes available.

Q: What are some of the benefits of RescueNet ePCR for iPad?
A:
There are many benefits to the product including:
• The system utilizes inexpensive, easy-to-use hardware.
• It’s very easy to set up.
• Agencies can begin using the system immediately.
• The system is self-training, which will save agencies money both up-front and longer term.
• It’s a great transitional product for agencies currently using paper to get into electronic documentation.
• Stylus-free interface for easy signature capture.
• And many more…

Q: Is ePCR for iPad NEMSIS compliant?
A:
The product does support collection of the NEMSIS v2 data set but does not yet include a NEMSIS extract.  ZOLL is currently working on support for NEMSIS v3 which will be available in a future release. 

Q: How is ePCR for iPad implemented?
A:
ePCR for iPad is a cloud-based product and will be provided in the Software as a Service (SaaS) model.  The iPad application is a free download from the iTunes store.  To take advantage of the backend capabilities of the system agencies can sign up via a website.

Q: How much does ePCR for iPad cost?
A:
The app is a free download from the iTunes store.  The backed capabilities cost $2.00/PCR.

Q: Is RescueNet ePCR for iPad simply another way to enter data into RescueNet ePCR systems?
A:
No. RescueNet ePCR for iPad is an entirely different product than RescueNet ePCR today, but ZOLL does do plan to merge them in the future.

Q: Does ePCR for iPad integrate with RescueNet ePCR?
A:
No.  ePCR for iPad is a separate product with no current integration points to RescueNet ePCR.

Q: Can existing RescueNet ePCR users switch to ePCR for iPad?
A:
Yes.  Current RescueNet ePCR users can certainly choose to switch to ePCR for iPad.  However, there is currently no feature to move data from a RescueNet ePCR environment to the ePCR for iPad environment.

Q: What should a customer know if they are interested in switching?
A:
Customers that are interested in switching from RescueNet ePCR Suite to RescueNet ePCR for iPad need to be aware that there are features that exist in the former that are not available in the latter. 

Some of these features include:

• Billing extracts
• CAD Integration
• NEMSIS/state extracts
• Faxing capabilities
• Reporting module
• Monitor uploads
• Full customization

We will be adding some of these capabilities over time but they do not exist in the initial release of the ePCR for iPad product.

Q: Does ePCR for iPad only work on iPad devices?
A:
Yes.  ePCR for iPad will not run on iPhones.  Nor will it run on any Android-, Blackberry- or Windows-based devices.

Q: Does ePCR for iPad require a 3G-capable device?
A:
No.  Although 3G devices are recommended to ensure more widespread coverage, WiFi connections can be used to communicate with the Internet to save PCRs.
