David BrownPresidentDavid brings more than 15 years of (Emergency Medical Services) EMS management experience to ZOLL as one of the original founders of Pinpoint Technologies, Inc. in 1993. He was Director of Technology at Transcare Corporation, a New York-based EMS service for two years and has also served as Operations Manager for Automated Dispatch Services, an EMS dispatch company located in Miami, Florida, from 1990 to1994. David has a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and computer science from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. As a ski instructor in the past, David still enjoys hitting the slopes on a good powder day.
Dr. Greg MearsMedical Director Dr. Mears joined ZOLL in 2012 as Medical Director. He has been an emergency medical services physician, educator, and specialist in performance improvement for more than 20 years. He demonstrates a passion for building integrated systems of care and for using real-time data to drive EMS operational and clinical decisions. In 2008, the Journal of Emergency Medical Services recognized Dr. Mears as the Top Innovator in EMS.
Prior to joining ZOLL, Dr. Mears served as the Director of Innovation for the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a clinical professor of emergency medicine. In addition, he served as the North Carolina State EMS Medical Director for 13 years and was the creator and Medical Director of the Emergency Medical Services Performance Improvement Center (EMSPIC). Dr. Mears received his medical degree from the University of Missouri and completed his residency in emergency medicine at the Wake Forest University.
Dr. Mears was the original principal investigator for the National EMS Information System (NEMSIS), the standard for EMS data and medical record systems, from 2001 to 2006, coinvestigator/ medical director for the project until 2011, and has served on the advisory board since 2011. He recently completed the National EMS Assessment, funded by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which serves as a key resource for EMS policy and development. He is a member of and has served in leadership roles of multiple professional organizations including American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), National Association of EMS Physicians (NAEMSP), and National Association of State EMS Officials (NASEMSO).
Kevin TapplyVice President, North American SalesKevin joined ZOLL in 2006. Prior to joining ZOLL, Kevin served as MCEI, Vice President of Sales for the Public Safety Solutions division of Motorola, Inc. From 1998 to 2003, Kevin was Vice President of Sales for the Mobile Government division of Aether Systems, Inc. and from 1991 to 1998 President and Chief Executive Officer of Cardinal Tracking, Inc. Kevin is a seasoned business development professional who has been directly responsible for the award of multi-million dollar contracts to some of the most prestigious public safety agencies. He has spent more than 22 years in the public safety industry, beginning as a police patrolman in New Hampshire. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Plymouth State College with an associates of science degree in business management. In his spare time Kevin enjoys exploring the Western United States on his BMW R1150RT motorcycle and playing golf.
Scott FordVice President, Operations and ITScott joined ZOLL in 2006 and leads the service and delivery teams for all RescueNet and CodeData software products. Scott’s teams are responsible for project management, client relations, implementation, professional services, technical support and corporate IT. Prior to joining ZOLL, Scott held several management positions in technologies companies, including Avolent, where he served as Director of Technical Services, and Spectra Logic, where he held a number of positions. In his role as the General Manager of Spectra Logic Japan, Scott was based in Tokyo and responsible for operations throughout Asia and Australia. Scott earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from California State University, Long Beach and a masters of business administration from the University of Colorado. Scott enjoys spending time with his wife and sons skiing, snowboarding and traveling.
Matt PesceVice President, Product StrategyMatt joined ZOLL in 2010 bringing over 18 years of experience in strategy definition, innovation, change management, communication, product management and marketing to the role. Prior to joining ZOLL, Matt served in senior positions with high tech and software organizations including Vice President of Global Marketing at Maptek, Chief Technology Officer at Beatport Digital Download Network, and Global Product Line Manager at Sun Microsystems. Matt has a bachelor of science degree in operations research and industrial engineering from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. When not working, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife and three children, and loves to travel around the globe.
Rob GotschallVice President, Research and DevelopmentRob joined ZOLL in 2005 and has played an integral role in guiding the engineering efforts for several RescueNet product lines including Dispatch, Billing, CommCAD, ePCR, Navigator and Custom Solutions. Prior to joining ZOLL he had been writing and managing the development of enterprise software for companies including Cadre Technologies, SyVox Corporation, XVT Software and Interactive Software Systems Incorporated. Additionally Rob was an instructor at Front Range Community College in Colorado. Rob earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Rob enjoys hiking, studying humpback whales, and playing golf.
Stuart MalloryVice President, International SalesStuart joined ZOLL in 2011, and brought with him over 20 years of executive sales management experience, specializing in International Market Development. Before joining ZOLL, Stuart led the International Sales Group at Kustom Signals, Inc. for almost 11 years. During that time, he created ongoing business relationships in over 70 countries worldwide, and was responsible for some of the largest contract awards in the company’s history. Prior to his tenure at Kustom, Stuart owned multiple businesses in his hometown of Topeka, Kansas where he also attended Washburn University. Stuart now lives in a suburb of Kansas City with his wife and kids. He enjoys quality time with the family, attending his son’s many sporting events, and playing golf whenever possible.
Heidi NewtonVice President, FinanceHeidi joined ZOLL in 2012 with over 30 years experience in a variety of leadership and consultative positions in corporate finance and accounting. Her key experiences and roles include process design and improvement, financial management and reporting, acquisitions, mergers, human resources administration, corporate tax and financing, systems integration, and audit. Heidi has her MBA and BA and earned her CPA certificate and license in the State of California. In her spare time, Heidi keeps busy with her family and the great Colorado outdoors.
Cindy KoehlerDirector, Human ResourcesCindy joined ZOLL in 2004 after spending five years as an executive search consultant and independent business consultant, specializing in high tech recruiting and human resources practices for growth-oriented technology companies. In the years prior, Cindy was one of the founding members of Applied Computer Technology, a Colorado-based systems integrator. She is currently a member of the CTEK Advisory Board Counsel and a member of Colorado Human Resources Association (CHRA). She has a bachelor of science degree in computer science from Colorado State University and is an Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). In her spare time, Cindy can be found traveling, scuba diving, and skydiving.
Lisa BoswellDirector, Quality Assurance and Regulatory AffairsLisa joined ZOLL in 2013 and brings more than 10 years of quality and regulatory experience with her. Prior to joining ZOLL, Lisa held a leadership position at GlobeImmune, Inc. a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing therapeutic products for cancer and infectious diseases. Lisa was an Integral player in the start up and validation of a GMP facility for the manufacture of clinical trial material and participated in regulatory filings required by the FDA. Lisa has extensive experience with setting up quality systems that comply with FDA and EU requirements. Lisa has a bachelor of science degree in biology and chemistry from St. Andrews College and a master of science degree in engineering management specializing in biotechnology from Tufts University. Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and being in the great outdoors.
