Alex N. Moghadam
Alex assumed leadership of the ZOLL Data Management team in July 2013 after serving eight years as Vice President of International Operations for ZOLL’s core resuscitation products. During this time, he more than doubled the company’s global presence and expanded the company’s reach into Japan, China, India, Eastern Europe and the Nordic region. Prior to joining ZOLL, from 1995 to 2005, Alex held a variety of commercial and operational roles with Thermo Electron (now Thermo Fisher Scientific), which included eight years of overseas assignments in Asia and France. He holds an MBA from DePaul University, a master of international management degree from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird), and a BS in biology from Loyola University of Chicago.  He enjoys the great outdoors and likes hiking, camping, mountain biking and, of course, skiing.

Dr. Greg Mears
Medical Director 
Dr. Mears joined ZOLL in 2012 as Medical Director. He has been an emergency medical services physician, educator, and specialist in performance improvement for more than 20 years. He demonstrates a passion for building integrated systems of care and for using real-time data to drive EMS operational and clinical decisions. In 2008, the Journal of Emergency Medical Services recognized Dr. Mears as the Top Innovator in EMS.

Prior to joining ZOLL, Dr. Mears served as the Director of Innovation for the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a clinical professor of emergency medicine. In addition, he served as the North Carolina State EMS Medical Director for 13 years and was the creator and Medical Director of the Emergency Medical Services Performance Improvement Center (EMSPIC). Dr. Mears received his medical degree from the University of Missouri and completed his residency in emergency medicine at the Wake Forest University.

Dr. Mears was the original principal investigator for the National EMS Information System (NEMSIS), the standard for EMS data and medical record systems, from 2001 to 2006, coinvestigator/ medical director for the project until 2011, and has served on the advisory board since 2011. He recently completed the National EMS Assessment, funded by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which serves as a key resource for EMS policy and development. He is a member of and has served in leadership roles of multiple professional organizations including American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), National Association of EMS Physicians (NAEMSP), and National Association of State EMS Officials (NASEMSO).

Heidi Newton
Chief Financial Officer, Vice President, Finance & Administration
Heidi joined ZOLL in 2012 with over 30 years experience in a variety of leadership and consultative positions in corporate finance and accounting.   Her key experiences and roles include process design and improvement, financial management and reporting, acquisitions, mergers, human resources administration, corporate tax and financing, systems integration, and audit.  Heidi has her MBA and BA and earned her CPA certificate and license in the State of California.  In her spare time, Heidi keeps busy with her family and the great Colorado outdoors.

Ronnie Thomson
Chief Technology Officer, Vice President, Research & Development

Ronnie came to ZOLL with over 20 years of experience leading software engineering organizations on platforms including building capabilities for high availability SaaS offerings in an Agile environment.  Ronnie’s most recent position was with Peoplefluent based out of Waltham, MA where he was responsible for 250 engineers and for migrating their entire portfolio to a SaaS environment.  Ronnie holds a B.S. and a PhD in Computer Science and is a Wharton Fellow. 

Kurt Sandstrom
Vice President, North American Sales
Kurt joined ZOLL Data in July 2014 as VP of North American sales and is responsible for leading the sales efforts for ZOLL’s Software and Road Safety Products. Prior to his current position, he originally joined the company in 1999 and has held various Sales/Sales Management roles across multiple ZOLL divisions including EMS, P.A.D, and LifeVest.   Kurt additionally spent 7 years in hospital sales with Medtronic in both the CRDM and Cardiac Surgery business units. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. In his free time Kurt enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, traveling, and being outdoors.

Rick Clyne
Vice President, Digital Marketing

Rick joined ZOLL Data in 2017, bringing more than 25 years of marketing and communications experience to the role.  He has spent his career in information technology and healthcare, most recently working in the healthcare supply chain with Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX), where he drove the company’s transformation to a digital- and content-marketing focused organization. Rick is an award-winning author with books published in both fiction and non-fiction. He holds an MA in History from the University of Colorado and a BS in Technical Communication from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. His free time is filled with cooking, reading, running, piano playing, and touring the Colorado high country on his motorcycle. He also plays an occasional round of painfully mediocre golf.

Colby Bock
Vice President, Operations
Colby joined ZOLL Data in 2007 after spending several years leading technical support teams within the telecommunications industry. Prior to that he spent six years on active duty in the United States military. Colby brings extensive leadership and vision to ZOLL Data. In his tenure at ZOLL Data, Colby has led and mentored several different teams within the company. His current responsibilities include leading our Operations department consisting of: Professional Services, Customer Care, and Corporate IT. Colby likes to spend time with his wife and three children as well as hunting, camping and fishing in the Rocky Mountains.

Cindy Koehler
Director, Human Resources
Cindy joined ZOLL in 2004 after spending five years as an executive search consultant and independent business consultant, specializing in high tech recruiting and human resources practices for growth-oriented technology companies. In the years prior, Cindy was one of the founding members of Applied Computer Technology, a Colorado-based systems integrator. She is currently a member of the CTEK Advisory Board Counsel and a member of Colorado Human Resources Association (CHRA). She has a bachelor of science degree in computer science from Colorado State University and is an Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). In her spare time, Cindy can be found traveling, scuba diving, and skydiving.

Lisa Boswell
Director, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs
Lisa joined ZOLL in 2013 and brings more than 10 years of quality and regulatory experience with her.  Prior to joining ZOLL, Lisa held a leadership position at GlobeImmune, Inc. a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing therapeutic products for cancer and infectious diseases.  Lisa was an Integral player in the start up and validation of a GMP facility for the manufacture of clinical trial material and participated in regulatory filings required by the FDA.  Lisa has extensive experience with setting up quality systems that comply with FDA and EU requirements.   Lisa has a bachelor of science degree in biology and chemistry from St. Andrews College and a master of science degree in engineering management specializing in biotechnology from Tufts University.  Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and being in the great outdoors.
